I turned the pen body with quite a significant taper, and then ribbed it with light cuts spaced 2mm apart.

For the lid, I turned it to size and threaded, then etched to depth great enough to hold Polyester Resin. The piece was then cast, and turned back down to dimension - with a lot of sanding.

Thanks chaps.

More the merrier conandy. Though you can turn aluminium on a wood lathe with a sharp skew so no excuse :wink:
