I made a copper closed end Barron fountain pen a week or so ago with some spalted maple. Today I made a copper closed end JR Retro with a nicer piece of spalted maple from the group of blanks I bought. I used a scrap pc of Box Elder burl for the final. The finish is 12 coats CA sanded and sanded again through all the colored pads and polished with Novus heavy and light scratch remover.
Thanks for looking comments bad or good welcome.

Wow...

The grain and the color similarity from the copper to the wood itself is perfect. A "perfect" pen, you couldn't do any better with what you were doing her. Very very nice.

Thanks everyone. It really is amazing how nice molding wood can look. I have seen some amazing bowls and pens made from wood that looks like junk (or would normally be considered junk)

WOW! Another beautiful pen! Again, I love the closed end. I think it fits so well with the pen as a whole. The copper finish works so well with the blank too! Overall an extremely well done pen! Nice job!
