Here's a pen I've been working on for altogether too long (I had to re-do the upper barrel because I didn't like the way the first one came out). It is in Red Mallee Burl and Yellow Box burl. The finial is from the same piece of Red Mallee but still seems to have a slightly different color.

PLEASE resize your photos to 640x480. Now to the pen. The finial looks off center, but it could be one of those goofy things that happens in photos. I've had it happen to me. I like the choice of woods and the way you put them together. The shape is nice. I would like to see a photo of it closed, but not if its 1024x768.

Nice Work! I really the contrasting colors of the woods used. What finish do you use? I appears in the photo to be more of a satin than a gloss.

Jerry,

Thanks. I tend to prefer a more satiny finish. This pen is sanded to 600, sealed, buffed with tripoli and white diamond, and then waxed (Renaissance), so no real finish to speak of.
