A friend of mine had some real thin copper sheets laying around so I talked him out of a small amount to play with. I glue the copper sheet around cigar pen tubes and then polished everything real well with a buffing wheel. I then drilled the blank bigger to accommodate the extra thickness and glued in the tubes with clear epoxy. You can see a few bubbles in the glue but otherwise it worked quite well. I coupled this with a bright copper kit and here are the results:

Hey, that's a cool idea and a great pen Curtis. I love seeing 'different' new ideas here.

If you do it again why don't you try using a bit of 7mm copper tube instead of sheet? I'm sure any plumber would swap a couple of meters of his boss's pipe for a slimline pen[:D]
