Here's my 2nd attempt with the Fake Cigar pen. I've started with a 5 1/8" Jobillo(Ho be Yo) pen blank and using a 6" 1/4" drill bit through the entire length of the blank in order to mount it on a mandrel. I plan to cut the blank after applying the finish and use a slimline kit. I left the burning end flat and plan to fill the mouth end with the same wood to make it appear as a closed end with maybe just a dimple in that end to represent a punched cigar tip. I will try and conceal the Nib within the burning end.

Any and all constructive criticism is always accepted and appreciated.

Raymond

Dude, if you just glue the top tube in, then assemble the nib, transmission and a bare tube, it slides in and the transmission holds the bottom tube in place and it twists at the nib. I thought I'd toss that out there, because it looks like you're gonna have an AWESOME pen and cutting it would jst not work as well. Maybe build the ash around the nib and have THAT do the twisting to open/retract the refill.
