Hello, at long last! LOL
This is made from Maple Burl which I ordered from Bill B the kit is from Bill`s too! (satin pearl)

I think the satin peral kit really compliments the beatiful grain of that maple burl. The black and white accents really highlight the pattern in the wood as well. Looks like a winner.

Great looking pen. I too turned a cigar pen from a Maple Burl blank from BB. Since the wood had a lot of black in it I used a Black Chrome kit. I like the resulting look. Your Satin Pearl looks great! I think any plating would look great with that beautiful wood![][]
