I decided that I needed a new pen and finished this one up with my first CA finish. It turned out good, now I just need to work on a better picture taking setup.

Nice pen, the wood grain looks great and the gloss looks very good.
The picture just needs the lighting evened out, it needs more light on the dark side of the pen. Placing a white paper over that side will bounce some of the flash into the dark section, or you could also set up a second light over there. You might also want to pick a background with a little more contrast than the pen, that will help the pen jump off the page.
I like that pen!

You are correct !!!!! You are the winner of a free bag of misc pen turning shavings! LOL

As for the type of wood I think it is Bocote, I would have to check my list at home to be sure.
