Keith K. kindly donated a BOB for the last Casting Contest which I was lucky enough to win. I thought I'd pick one out to turn and post as a way of saying thanks. One of the blanks simply had a ? written on it, so a bit of a mystery, and I thought that's what I'll try and do something with. The wood looked a bit soft, and I assumed it was spalted something or other, so figured I'd stabilize it to be on the safe side. 5 minutes dip for each end in red cactus juice, then bake, then full vacuum in of orange CJ. Thanks Keith!

Looks a lot like some of my spalted pecan... :)

And that's a heck of a nice box of blanks! lol .... It's too bad I just didn't have time to get in on this year's events very much!
