This is some Chrome Imitation Carbon Fiber Tape that I picked up at the auto parts store the other day it's used for decoration in a car. I wrapped the tubes with the tape and plugged them up with clay and cast them with clear Alumilite using Charlies Resin saving mold and my Pressure pot set at 25 PSI. The kit is a chrome cigar from CSUSA. It was sanded to 1500 then MM to 4000 and Plastic polished.
Any comments appreciated, Thanks for looking.

Pretty cool... no seams that I can see.

You have to look real close to see it, I was real careful when lining every thing up. I went to wal-mart in the scrap book section and got one of those paper cutters that uses a razor blade on a runner to make really accurate cuts, I think it was $19.00. I then used a razor blade to trim the ends.

That looks great!

I tried something similar with some holographic material .. didn't have as
much luck as you did, though. Once you cast, you start finding out which
materials will shrink and leave wrinkles..

Did you have any trouble with the adhesive squeezing out when the
resin heated up?
