Hello Dan

Very nice pen and thanks for showing. That wood is one that many people have a hard time finishing in that they complain alot about getting white specks of dust in the pores. From what I see you seem to have got by with this. Could you explain your method of turning to finish. Or maybe you do have this problem and it does not show in the photo. I am sure others as would I, be happy to hear your take on this. Thanks.

Jttheclockman. Thank you for your comment. This is the first time I've tried CA on Padauk but I've turned and worked with it a good deal. It's is very very important to wipe Paduck down with denatured alcohol just before you apply your finish and allow it to dry for about 1 minute. If for what ever reason you can't apply your finish right away you should wipe it down again. Padauk is a oily wood and with out using DNA you'll have problems with any finish.
I'm using Mercury Thin and Med. Flex CA this blank I'm not sure but it could be this CA as others have said they don't have the problems using Mercury Flex CA they do with other brands. I'm new to CA finish this was my 6th blank using Mercury Flex CA

I wish that someone would make a CA which has a UV inhibitor in it for use on woods like Padauk, Pink Ivory, and other which will turn brown if they get too much sunlight.
