Against my better judgement, I made this pen for my brother to use for the guestbook at his wedding.

It is a Sierra Elegant Beauty from Ed with a piece of cherry burl that I got from another member. Unfortunately, I had some given to me and I bought some from a couple different people, but I put all the pieces in the same box when they arrived, so I don't know who to thank for the piece.

I broke a couple chunks of burl in the process, but finally figured out how to make it work. I glued the tube in, sanded the corners on my disk sander to make it approximately round, hit it with thin CA, skewed it, filled the voids with CA, skewed, and repeated ad nauseum. Eventually it got to the size I wanted.

It is finished in BLO and the floor minwax poly as described in the library.

It is going off to him with the regular ink, private reserve gel, P9000, and Super Bowl 8900. If he and his fiancee can't find an ink they like there, it is their own fault.

Midvale, Ut,
Nice looking pen. Great job. I hope that you have an armed guard standing over it or chain it down.
