Cut up this burl with the eyes in the sapwood also. It's pretty common in other wood, but I haven't run across it in Cherry. 8 coats of thin CA, wet micro meshed. I'm not a big fan of the ultra, but if it sells, I will be of this one anyhow.

Very nice.
One thing I have found about the ultra is that I do not like the clip and the nib being different colors. So that is a simple solution, buy equal amounts of both types and swap the clips.
You can also make a nearly all gold and nearly all silver one which looks cool too. The only contrasting metal is the ring on the top of the finial.
