Just added a cherry burl comfort pen to my album. This came from about a 25 pind slab of burl that a lady of work brought to me when she found out I make pens. It was found by her husband during a firewood expedition. Guess who is getting this pen :)

Yea, I cant really tell if its actually burl or just really figured cherry. I'm half way thinking about putting some of it in the individual classified section, but at the same time don't know if I want to get rid of any of it.

The finish is CA, MM to 12000, then TSW.

Patrick, I think that's figured cherry, probably from a crotch area, rather than cherry burl. All the cherry burl I've seen and worked had distinctive eyes and tiny dead voids. It's still a very nice piece of wood, and as you've shown makes a beautiful pen.
