A friend at work has brought be several pieces of cherry burl and a little bit of deer antler. The best part of this pen doesn't show up, as I turned it from a blank that was less than 1/2-inch square.

The void in the burl is filled with deer antler shavings from a previous pen, stabilized with CA, of course.

Fantastic pen and finish , looks great but I have to agree with R2 on the filler....looks out of place there should use dark fill....coffee grounds works great.
Also very good photography too

Very nice - fill is up to the person doing it - looks pretty natural to me I have seen many branches with that color combination. Not picking on ya just trying to be funny.

Nice Save and Fill. I 10th R2's suggestion though. Then again, I am a beginner.
Nice pen and great fit around the band and nib.

Just my .02

I also agree, it would have been nice with a dark fill in the void IMHO
