I bought this little kit at Hobby Lobby on sale. I have big visions, but wouldn't dare go too crazy without giving the product a test run first. I'm not that crazy about it and it was a brute to turn. It was a constant effort replacing and filling grout holes too. I don't actually know that it is ceramic, but it certainly is some sort of cement product with actual grout. I sanded most of the pen down by hand on my belt sander, then finished rounding it real careful and gentle with just the corner of one of Ken's carbide tools. It has a CA finish over it. I'm not crazy about it and it was way too much effort for the results.

It's less heavy than corian. The rock is full of air being that it is like a cement of some sort. I wouldn't do it again. Had to grind a curve on the back of each piece to glue it to the tube too.
