Here's my first fountain pen. I had this celtic knot blank sitting around for awhile and finally decided to do something with it. So here it is.

The knot is walnut but I am not sure what the main wood is. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks

Nice job on the pen.

My first guess on the main wood is cherry. It actually looks a lot like Brazilian cherry, though.

I have an Irish background, so I am particular to the celtic knot! Very nice. My guess would be jatoba...?!

I did a google search on Jatoba and the raw blanks look identical to these blanks, so I'm thinking it's it. I actually have quite a few of these blanks that I received in a misc box I got.

I know it's not Cherry as I have worked with Cherry before and this doesn't compare.

Thanks guys!

That's a really rotten pen! You might as well mail it to me

Really nice work! I like the knot, I like the blank - they fit well together!
