I managed to acquire four pieces of this stuff. Unfortunately the pieces had been cast with a hole through the center so it's a bit difficult to make a closed end. I still have two pieces left and haven't given up on the idea of a closed end. This one is a Statesman fountain pen that will have a good nib, probably 18K in it by the time I do my next show. I found this stuff to be harder on tools than anything else I've tried except some of the Tru Stone flavors.

Geez I hate when you do this! That is absolutely beautiful. pencil-thin shine line really demonstrates the third-dimensional beauty. Even with my glasses on, I can not see any jpeg artifacts. The reflection in the base is wonderfully subtle. If there is one nit to pick, it would be with your stand. The side is just deep enough to interrupt the flow of the pen's lines.

See? I can be petty when I'm jealous!

It seems like everyone of us who bought the Princess's bakelite had pretty much the same idea and reached for a statesman. Although, that pen definitely deserves bragging rights. Congrats on a very nicely executed pen.
