Cast Pasta Cigar Pen

Hey all,

sah6139, a member on this forum, casts his own blanks, and he let me try some. I have tried a couple of Steve's Pen blanks, and since the coffee blank I got from him turned out so nice, I thought I would try his Pasta Blank. As with Steve's Coffee Blank, the blank drilled nice, it cut easy, and it turned like Butta! :biggrin: After turning, this didn't need much prep work prior to finish. As a matter of fact, I went straight from the tools to Micro Mesh through 12,000 grit. The finish is a very light coat of friction polish and ren wax. Well, here it is.........

Nice job on the pen. The finish may have to be changed or the pasta may start to change with humidity(DAMHIKT).

Interesting, I didn't give that any thought. What finish would you suggest?

I now use 6-10 coats of thin CA, polished with micro mesh afterwards. It seems to take care of sealing the pasta.
