I've often walked past the Norfolk Island Pines around the East Coast here in Aus and wondered what one of the frons would look like as a pen. So I picked up some big ones and cast them in my vertical 3/4" moulds. They were only 1/2", so lent to one side of the moulds, but gave an interesting effect in the final pen.

It does give a neat effect.. and I can see all sorts of color combinations
that would work well. Nice job .. they look pretty cool!

Neil,
That turned out (pun intenned, I suppose) terrific. We have plenty of NIP here in Fla. They are quite popular with the bowl turners. I really like the way the fronds came out in the cast.
