Been lucky lately scoring some galls from an Ash tree. I cast them first, with some of the dye penetrating the very porous stuff, then stabilize in Cactus Juice.

I have what I have been told are galls on some Jack Pine I have on my property. Never cut one off to look at it. Wonder if they look as cool as the ones you have. Those are real cool looking pens.

They are the branches, not the main tree like burls. Might have to check those out.

Those are very nice. When I saw the thumb nails I thought the colors were a bad idea. When I enlarged it I saw that I was wrong. I really like the orange, and I am not an orange fan.

Never heard of a gall before.

Thanks for the comments.

I am always on the lookout for galls, as what is often relatively boring wood, can have amazing galls. Of course i am always looking for burls as well, just galls are easier to handle, the biggest one I've found is 8" diameter.

Cheers
