I recently got some casein rods in different colors and patterns. This material is vintage from early 1900's I never saw casein in any color but white before. Had my doubts about it being casein but it smells just like it when drilling and turning.
Here are a few Executives, Majestic Squires and a Jr. Statesman.
Sorry for not as good as pictures as usual, camera been giving me problems lately.

Thanks for looking, Keith "mrburls"

Keith, you have been busy!! Those are real wowzers!
I've never cut casein. Is it easy to work with?
If you have an extra blank to sell, bring it to the next meeting.

How did you ever find 100 year old rods? Beautiful, I would love to make a score like that!
I wish I knew how to duplicate these rods in my garage somehow ..I imagine its a lost art!

I've been out of the game too long. How does one obtain casein blanks? In the 5 seconds I've googled it I only found the plain white blanks. Just wondering as I'd like to eventually get into casting my own blanks and if at all possible would like to do so without using acrylics/synthetic chemicals to do so. Guess I should do a search for such a thing. :)

It's a lot of searching and sometimes LUCK.

Keith, you are the master at finding those thought to be extinct materials!

All the pens are beautiful! My fav has to be the executive with the black wavy striations in it.
