Cartridge Pens from scrap cutoffs

I have had some time with LOML off with her mother on a shopping trip (do I hear maxed out CCs? YES:frown: :crying Her mother just turned 88 and has more energy and spunk than some people I know that are 50. Found these cutoffs in my scrap box and made them into cartridge pens. I tapered the primer end of some .308 cartridges so the clip would fit.

I think on the next ones I make I'll shorten the top about a 1/4" to bring the clip closer to the center.

Interesting... I never thought to taper the end for the clip, but it does make sense that there would be enough brass back in the web of the casing to support it. Hmmm... gears turning, smoke starting to come out of ears... I like it

That is a brilliant idea with the clip, lovely pens! Funny how when we think of mother in laws that bullets come into our minds! LOL
