Hi,

These are a commission, a pen and pencil set, Jr Gentlemen’s from Craft Supply.

The wood is a stabilized curly maple, they are the first one I have turned from William Wood Write (www.penblanks.ca), finished using mirco sanding and plastic polish, then a coat of Lee Valley conservators wax.

<br />Very nice wood. Is it just me or does it appear that your pens are turned a little out of round?
But they are really good looking pens.

Hi Ken,

I agree, in one picture the reflection of the pen case gives that look on the nib hardware...I know they are a clean fit...but the picture shows otherwise....an illusion, eh![;)]

Great looking set. I love Curly Maple. Could you explain the plastic polish you used to finish it or are you talking CA finish.
Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your feedback.

The polish is a plastic scratch remover, Russ also supports that Brasso will work the same with a positive effect as well on stabilized woods. I do not use CA finishes, this is just the stabilized surface micro finished down to 12,000 MM (wet sanded)
