Here is a picture of three calligraphy pens I cranked out today. From top to bottom: bocote, walnut, mesquite. Comments welcome as usual, and thanks for looking.
Do a good turn daily!

I noticed that it looked like a baseball bat after I was finished with it. That wasn't my intention, but that what it looks like to me. Is that what you're thinking?

Nice work Don. I did a fair amount of calligraphy when I was a kid.
I looked at the links and didn't see any offers of Nib holders only.
Do any of those vendors have 'em?
Thanks,
Gary

Thanks Gary. Yes, the have nib holders for sale. You have to go to the main page of the sites and find the pages with them. Actually, stores like Hobby Lobby or Michaels sell them also. That's where I bought the nibs for these pens.

Thanks Serge. I obtained several pieces some nice walnut crotch that is really figured. I usually don't like walnut, but these pieces are really nice. I have some mesquite peppermill blanks drying for you.

Don,

I guess my question wasn't clear because my terminology was incorrect.
Where do you get the ferrules so that you can make your
own calligraphy pens?
Does one of the vendors you listed sell those?
Thanks,

Gary

Gary,
I now think you are asking about how the nibs are held in the pen itself. I purchased nib inserts that slid into the end of the pen which has a 7mm tube in it. The nib insert holds the nib. Her is a link to the nib inserts. This is the only place I've found them.

If this is not the answer you need, keep trying. I'm a little slow at times.[:D][;)]

Gary,
One of our members (joeatact) held a group buy on the nib holders not too long ago. He made them available through his website. Try here: http://www.joespens.com/
