I finally got enough nerve to turn one of the cactus blanks I got from Curtis. I just love the way this material looks on any kit style. Polished to 12k mm then used ca/blo for a final 3 coats. 12k mm again the ren wax to shine it up. The jury is still out on the photos. Black backround or mirror? I can't decide.

Great job on that blank Alex . The kit is too busy for the blank though , it draws your attention away from the blank .

Its a clear resin with the tubes and hole painted black. I believe the black is the classiest color for this material.

I like the black background my self, both are nice. Nice workmanship, fit, finish, etc.

I also have a cactus blank from Curtis (raffle prize). It is clear resin and he suggested painting the interior black. Your pen looks great. I hope mine comes out as well. He makes quality blanks.

Great looking pen!

I prefer the black background (sans dust), but the mirrored background also looks a little out of focus to me.
