Sorry for the infomercial, but that is what I thought of when making this pen today. When I build a tackle box I always include a pen using the same wood. This time (and often) the wood is quarter-sawn African mahagony, not the greatest wood for a pen. I tried cutting a scrap or two on the diagonal to add some interest. Here is his pen, Mesa in bimetal:
I made a mahagony pen stand.
The grain is interesting and has a great deal of chatoyance which I would love to show.
Here is his tackle box from the same wood.
