Was able to finish 4 cigar pens today. My Pens Plus arrived and it will now be my go to finish. I unfortunately broke the handle to my pen press, but other than that everything went smoothly. The pens are Bloodwood, Desert Ironwood, Brown Mallee and Amboyna Burl.

You can always use your lathe tailstock as a pen press?

Nice turnings, with some really nice timber! Thumbs UP!!!!

Great looking pens. I like the woods you chose and the finish. What finish is that?
I don't have a pen press but just use my woodworking vise. It might be a pain if one was assembling 50 pens at once but works great for a few but I have never used a pen press so I can't compare. What I like about it is as you press the parts together sometimes things will not start perfectly straight and I just back up and re-position and continue the assembly.

I used Pens Plus as a finish. I used to use EEE and Shellawax, but found the finish didn't last too long. So far I'm impressed with the Pens Plus product.
