Made it early this A.M. It's another "Burls and Swirls" blank from Ankrom Exotics on a Rhodium Jr. Gentleman Fountain Pen. I'm on a "Burl and Swirls" kick lately:rolleyes:. The resin swirls have a really depth and iridescence to them that is hard to appreciate in the picture. There is a piece of the burl cap which seem to have absorbed some of the pigment when it was cast and I could not get it out. Comments and critique welcome but most of all thanks for looking. Have a great day. Doc:)

Lovely pen Doc but as you say, the pictures dont do it justice.

Have you tried using a circular polarising filter?
It may just give your photo a bit more kick!

Terry,

How does this look? The gold pigment or metallic swirl seems to have a slight dull look to it even in person. Regards, Doc

Doc, infinitely better

You can actually see the iridescence now! Clearly it likes the lighter background.

Did you use a CPL or not?

Terry, I didn't use the CPF. I wanted to try the white background first and see what you thought. I think I will try the CPF out though. Regards, Doc

Great looking pen. I like the wood/acrylic blends I've been seeing lately. Besides looking really cool, I'm guessing it's a great way to make use of smaller wood peices that would otherwise be too small for use as a pen blank by itself.

And the white background does bring out the color a bit better as well.
