Beautiful Pen Steve,
Superb Blank, Excellently Turned, Fitted and Finished,
Looks Great on the Jnr. Statesman.
The New Back Drop, is Excellent, the Edges of the Pens Profile is Readily Discernible against the Background, and the slight Light Blue Colouring does not Detract or React against the Pen.
Well Done.
Brian.

I really like the contrast of the darker pen against the lighter, but not monochromatic background. BTW a nice pen also.

Burl & Pine Cone Hybrid

This is a pretty pen... but I can't decide whether the pine cones detract from the grain of the burl... the burl is outstanding, so is the combination of colors and forms... anyway nice work

I wish I could take credit for the perfect position of the core of the pine cone but I really didn't even consider the possibility that one was embedded in the blank. There was the burl on either end and blue resin in the middle, similar to the one below. I saw the edges of the pine cone in the resin but didn't give it much thought. I just got lucky!

Oh, My !! .. I think I know who made those blanks and who sold them !!

In fact, they might still be (zeroed out) in my unsubmitted shopping cart from quite some time ago !!!

I had no idea that there could be a pine cone inside !!
