Got some money for my b-day and decided it was time to jump into bullet pens and powder coating. Got some brass, bullets, Eastwood Powder coating systems and a toaster oven. Built a bunch of jigs, learned how to powder coat, and figured out how to drill metal on my Delta 46-460 lathe. Spent 12 hours in the shop and made the 50 cal and 30 cal pens. The brass with standard pen tips were already made, just played around with powder coating them.

Still have a lot to learn.

Thanks to Les Elm, Rick Gibson, Rick Herrell, Paul Sherman and Don Ward for the great tutorials on bullet pens. And thanks to Ashley Webb for the powder coat tutorial. (For new comers, all of these tutorials are in the Library Section)

Looks like you have the Rifle Cartridge Penmaking down pat Alzey!
Well done.

Les

Thanks...Your tutorial on the 50 cal was very helpful. I didn't realize how tight the tolerances were on the Hornady round to make a pen until I popped out the steel tip on 1 rounds and loosened it on another .
