Buckeye Burl Vertex

I see several Buckeye Burl pens posted recently, and it just so happens I made one yesterday too. I was looking for a good blank to use for a gunmetal vertex fountain pen I wanted to try, and the color of the buckeye seemed about right. It's also the first time I've had a CA finish work out well.

Has anybody else noticed the swampy smell this wood has? Or was it just this blank?

Super nice looking, GR. I love BEB, one of my favorite woods. Finish looks great! I have not noticed that smell with Buckeye, wfiw.

Beautiful piece of wood and the finish is fantastic. The blanks on this kit always look overturned.
