I have large piece of Buckeye Burl that I cut up and am having stabilized. This piece has some great patterns to it and lots of color variation. The first blank I did happened to have a few spots of opportunity. I filled these voids with turquoise mica and thin CA.

C&C are always welcome.

That turquiose 'wakes' the blank up just enough not to make it gawdy(hope that comes across right). Nicely finished too!!!

Great job on a really nice looking pen. I like the term "opportunity spots". Nicer reference than voids.

I only saw the pic, then a few hours later the description. I like the mica idea!! I was wondering how you got the turquoise ground so small!! Beautiful pen!
