This Buckeye burl was a pen of firsts for me. First buckeye burl, first (and only) satin nickel SL, and first time I have big voids to fill. They are the dark spots in the second pic.
Edit: This is also my first try at home stablizing.

No firsts on this except combo of kit and wood, which I think works pretty well.

They both look very good. If it were me, on the SL, I would have reversed the blank and shot for the darker portion of the burl on top. Always seems to be more balanced that way for me. Nice job though.
