Here's a peice of buckeye burl I picked up after my pen club meeting this past Sat. I love this wood. The kit is a Blk Ti Jr. Gent. To finish I did a CA fill for the small voids, sanded to 800, sanding sealer, 12 coats of thin CA, MM to 12000, buffed with tripoli and white diamond, and polished with PlastX. Also, please forgive the fingerprint in the last pic.

Thanks Butch, sorry to hear about your back. I've had mine go out after bending over and going to stand again. could barely walk for a week. went to the chiropractor atleast 4-5 times a week. My L4 kept shifting. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

If I had to choose between alligator or Buckeye burl, I would take the burl. Nice looking and very similar to the alligator look.
