This buckeye was an experiment. I took a chance on a '60's burl clock on Ebay. It had the plastic gold Roman Numerials and all. Of course it had the heavy plastic top coat. I thought at the $15 bid how could I go wrong. Well the shipping was almost the same as the price of the clock. The finish was so damn hard it dulled a bandsaw blade and a carbide tipped circular saw blade. I did get a nice batch of blanks, but the back of the clock had all kinds of bark. I was basically disappointed to say the least. Here is the first pen, and guess what, I'm not so disappointed any more!

Yea...one thing I have found with Ebay, is the sellers will go with a blanket fee for shipping (some will even make up a loss by jacking the shipping). Tends to make a good buy expensive. The pen has outstanding figure and is beautifully done! Great work on it.
