Brown Mallee Burl?

This is a full size Gentlemen's fountain pen made with what I think is Brown Mallee Burl, but I'm not sure. CA/BLO finish. Comments welcomed.

Looks similar to a York Gum burl that I just turned, even with the light sapwood. Nice work too.

It could certainly be brown mallee, but whatever it is, it's beautiful and you made a great looking pen from it.

love your pen looks fantastic well done, l also agree it's BMB as l have just finished cutting up four burls of red and brown into inch slabs for clocks desk sets.

The pen is two things, one for sure Brown Mallee from the broad leaf Mallee, and the other is it is a credit to both you and the species. I find it one of the most stable of Burls and it can finish as yours is to a glass finish, using the sapwood softens and provides neat contrast as well.
