Brass tube showing (intentionally)

I have been experimenting with doing a clear barrel. I tried many ideas and all came out badly, not clear at all. This one came out reasonably well. Black segments with brass tube showing. These are not painted lines, they are segment parts. I did overturn it a bit.

I've seen pens with the tube intentionally showing, but I've never seen one exactly like that. Very cool!


Segmenting would make casting tube-in very difficult. Drilling the blank and gluing the tube would be very difficult to to get the barrel that clear (Polish the inside) and hide the glue. Hummmmmmmmmm.

The black parts are segments, the clear is resin poured in a mold.

It really shows the depth of the lines and how close it gets to the tube. Not something you usually get to see.
