My son is a Fireman, and his Captain, who is retired now, gave me bunch of scrap pieces of wood left over from some furniture he had made and some deer antler he had laying around collecting dust. In exchange for the wood and antler I made him a bolt action pen and for his wife I made one of my breadboards. He had enough antler to do about 10 pens and there is enough wood to do 10 or 15 breadboard or cutting boards. I think I came out way ahead in this swap but he wouldn't take anything for the wood or antlers.
