Bocote

I bought a bunch of this Bocote last week and thought it was time I made a pen out of it.
The grain and color are the best I have ever seen in Bocote.

Wow, that looks like zebrawood on 'roids! Beautiful pen, love the grain. Very nice work. I love the ray flecks in there. Is that bias-cut or just really wild graining?

Just really wild grain----this blank has a dark spot on it that somehow ended up under the clip. The blank is really a second that I would not sell.
I was real happy that I bought a bunch of it.

There's nothing like a 'second' to make a pen really pop in the hands of the right person. Some of my best pens are born from seconds and the god of CA. hehe []
