This is one of Bobalu's slabs he cast. I got three great blanks out of it. I bet it wasn't expected to look THIS good turned down and polished. Again, any centerband I could make would just break the blank up too much, and really, this is just a pen to display the impressive result of the casting. It's also Pen For Hope #4, so it'll get a good home eventually. I LOVE this blank.

Well, what can I say? You just don't know what's going to pop out once you get down to finish size. It looks really nice Allen. Glad you found something neat under that ugly exterior. I'm also happy to know that it is going to a good cause.

By the way, I forgot to mention, I used a chrome tube with no paint on it. The blank is JUST barely translucent enough to see where the tube WOULD be without showing off all kindsa nasty. I think brass tubes would have been a mistake. Seems like the extra light reflecting in there does a lot for it.

I got me a peice of that blank too. Looks great...Gotta figure out what I want to do with mine.
