Both look great and I really like the style but the blue one really stands out. I can't imagine how much time and skill it took to do the orange duofold over blue threads on the cap. Really impressive.

Great Pens, Phil.
The Blue, is more to my taste, yet I can appreciate the amount of work and technique required on the Orange and Blue.
Pardon my ignorance, but as I am not experienced in making "Kit Less Pens" I have a couple of Questions;
What type of material is the Orange Duofold ?
Is the Orange material Hard and Brittle? or Soft and Fragile?
I notice some chips on the Orange Cap threads,
Do you have to lubricate the material when cutting? or
Apply some harder material, e.g CA ?

I love your Profile, Proportions and Lines.
The Fit and Finish is Superb.
Congratulations,
Brian.

The orange is more brittle than I thought it would be. I also saw the chips and therefore now have a pen I cannot sell. I will make it a daily tote pen for me or someone else as a gift. My son is going to Auburn University in the fall so I may let him take it with him.

How long is that ebonite pen?

Work is lovely in both cases. Your poor son, who has to inherit that quality of mistake!

I actually like pens with variations so I like what you were doing with the orange and blue.

I'm curious about the chipping also, what size threads you were cutting and is this material from Greenwald?

If it is I have some of that material also, and he makes and sells some pre-made components for making a kitless pen from this material which I've bought and those have no chipping, but the thread is a finer looking triple start.

It is material from greenwald. The chipping may be a result of Operator error as I was trying to get it completed on short span and got in a hurry. I will try another piece of it tomorrow and take my time to see if it changes the results. If it does not thread better, I will just sleeve it over something that threads a bit better.
