It's been a while since I last SOYP'd. I just haven't had much free time to get in the shop. My wife just gave birth to our third daughter last Tuesday... You'd think I'd have even LESS shop time, but since I'm on paternity leave and don't have to go to work, I've found some extra time to spend. And with 4 females in the house, I take any chance I can to release some testosterone and do something "manly", no offense to the lady pen turners out there, you know what I mean.
Anyway, this is a "modified" European, I say modified because I left off the center band. The top is African Blackwood and the bottom is a "mochachino" blank from Woodcraft. Bottom tube and inside of blank was painted with an almond color. I think they go quite well together...
Thanks for looking!
EDIT: FYI, I polished the acrylic, but just put a wax finish on the blackwood. Thought the "dull" finish on the wood gave a nice contrast...
