I had the great pleasure(not) of putting my hand on a black widow last week. After doing the spider dance I chased this one down with poison and then after defeating the monsterous beast I dropped it in acetone cause that's what was close by. Decisions had to be made on a proper disposal and for the sake of historical purposes I found a way to preserve the beast for future generations. I placed it on a maple burl and cast it in clear resin. Sadly there are a couple of air bubbles (I guess it last breath) I turned it display site would be prominent from any direction. Comments and critiques are welcome and thanks for lookińg.

It's a good thing that you posted this on a turning site !! If you posted that on youtube, the spider peope would be crawling all over you. Great use of a found object !! Jim S

I love that you have cast it into a Bottle Stopper, Phil.
I expect that you will put your prized bottle with this Stopper, as it will be very safe.
There are a lot of Arachnophobian's out there and they won't go anywhere near it.
Clever thinking.
Brian.
