Thanks. You are not telling us what you did though. From what I gather you cut half way into a blank with either a bandsaw or tablesaw on an angle to give you the effect. Not sure what you filled the voids with though. Am I close???

sure .. i built a simple sled that hold the blank at 90 deg to blade, the blade is tilted to 30deg ,, blank is cut not quite in half, flipped and cut from the other side, inserts ca'ed, drilled i use gorilla gule to glue tube in , then turned,, if i do this again i ll go to 45 deg to give more 'rake' to the insert and cut closer to center line.. thanks,, have fun ,, be safe fingers can be close to blade,
