This is in fact is the natural color of this wood. it really is as yellow as that. No die or anthing. Just lacquer. The piece i turned from this was about 3/4 in dia. It is like a branch more so than a blank. I have some pieces of this stuff that is some what larger. I turned this piece with the bark still on it.
There is very little pith which is also yellow. This wood is very solid. This pen has became my favotite.(since my fav color is yellow)

I was wondering the same thing. I just looked it up, and it is a grape/berry producing small tree. I sure would like a couple of blanks of that wood.
