Black Beans

I've been playing around a little bit with some clear casting (with limited success) and I thought I'd do a twist on the coffee bean blank. So here it is, a chrome Sierra dressed in black beans. I also tried to make a "rice" blank but for whatever reason it didn't set up for me.
Please excuse the fit of the pen. I wanted to make sure it didn't blow up on me so it's a little on the large size.

Actually there was no choice of colours, except for painting the tube black

Looks really great. The beans are much nicer in the pen than on my plate! Good luck with the rice too. I have made a few with rice and they look exceptional.

Anything special about casting rice? The two that I did didn't set up.

Pretty nice for just playing around, Not sure why your rice pens didn't set up ! possibly there wasn't enough void space between the rice grains to allow enough resin to collect and catalyze? If you still have them and you have an old toaster oven try heating them to 150 degrees for an hour or so see if that helps solidify them. Don't use a toaster oven that will be used for food use though.
