Finished this one today. Tomorrow is my father's 85th birthday and he had given me a piece of "fat lighter" heart pine from a stump and asked me to turned him a pen. I did an angle cut on it and got lucky and found a knot in it to give it a little character. Two-tone gunmetal/gold Cigar kit. I'm still not happy with my photos.

A beautiful pen with a great finish. After a careful look at the photo, I can find very little to fuss about. Good end to end focus. Even lighting. great exposure control. Fine detail. Good contrast. The background does not distract from the subject but does make the pen the center of attention, just what a good background should. What's not to like about this photo?

Thanks for the compliments. He really liked it. Boy the rosin in that stuff will clog up the sandpaper in an instant!
