Birdseye Maple

This is from the same Birdseye maple that I am selling----I made this today instead of eating lunch---I am still working on the Diet so any good reason to miss a meal works for me---LOL

I thought you said the wood was wet still? Did you nuke it in the microwave to dry it, or turn it wet? My next dumb question is if it's wet, how do you put a finish on it?

Don't tell anyone---I ran it through the Mic----screwed up the first one and almost started a fire---had to toss the blank---it turned black--over cooked--So I dried the blank last night and drilled and installed the tubes---it was waiting for me at lunch time.[8D]

The bottom looks like birds eye but the cap looks kike a quilted or curly maple. Am I seeing things? Still a very nice pen.

And it is the same blank. I almost listed it as curly birdeye but the curl comes and goes----but so do the eyes.
