Birds Eye Maple

A Birds Eye Maple slimline with a Padauk center band... finished with Ca and buffed...

I am having a lot more fun making these wooden center bands... thanks to all here for the inspiration... I will try some other kits when I can afford it... but for now these slimlines are it, so it is nice to have something else to do with them to make them a littel different.

Looks great! Did you give any thought to reversing the top so the pen would be symmetric?

The slimline is one of my favorite ones to work with because the cost is so reasonable.

Marc, Nice design. I like the slim lines also, because like Eagle said, they are great to play around with because of the reasonable cost. If you don't like it or ruin it, no big deal. Have you tried the KC twist design? Another variation you can try. Have fun.
The more I look at your pen, the more I like the visual appeal.

Love what you're doing with the center bands.....I might have to go back and spend some more time playing around with slimlines. Nice work on the finish, as well.

I love the beads. I like turning beads but find they do not look great on most pens. You made them work!
