Bigleaf Maple Burl Set

Finished this set up this morning. The pen is one I made earlier this year and showed to a dear friend who was looking for a pencil for her grandson, who will be heading off to college next fall. Not having any pictures of the pencil version of this kit handy, I had sent her a picture of the pen version, because they look the same outwardly. After talking with her, that turned into a pen and pencil set, so I made a pencil to go with the already completed pen. Will be on its way to my friend in ND next week.

Thank you, Jim and Mark! I do like these Liberty kits and they do make a nice set. When I started with the pen earlier this year, I thought it would be nice to put a US grown wood on a US made kit.

Thanks! Yes - 4 coats of thin, followed by 6 or 8 coats of medium, then on to wet sanding and polishing.
